Grey Hackle- Two Thumbs Up

My Girlfriend and I went up to Payson/Christopher Creek for a quick weekend trip over Memorial Day. We wanted to stay in a small rustic cabin nestled among the pines and creeks in Northern AZ – AND THAT IS EXACTLY what we got with the Grey Hackle Lodge. The cabins were small but very functional and nicely kept. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin with fireplace. Everything we needed (small coun...[Read More]

Wonderful place in the woods

My husband and I travel all over the US staying in little towns. This was among if not our best experience to date!! Breathtaking location, cute cabin, and wonderful staff. Our travels won’t likely bring us back here, but we would surely stay again if we ever do.  Stayed September 2015, traveled as a couple

Excellent little place in the woods

Very nice little place in the woods. I stopped by on a whim (I’d been travelling all day). They had to scramble a bit but were able to accommodate me. I took a walk along the creak nearby and had dinner at an excellent place about 2 minutes walk away. I was tempted to give five stars, but I didn’t want people to get confused (these are cabins in the woods, not a downtown hotel). Servic...[Read More]

Valentine Weekend

We love Christopher Creek. It is nice and quiet. The weather was great! We wished for snow but did not get it. 🙁 We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin at Grey Hackle. The family loved it. They had a nice selection of movies and games. We had a lot of fun family time. I will always stay at the Grey Hackle when we go up north.

Great stay all around

Decided to head up to the mountains late one afternoon and called Grey Hackle to see if there were any more cabins available. They stated that they had one left but warned that it was a small studio cabin – a warning that they’d repeat a few times over the conversation. I appreciated the honesty but once we arrived we realized that they were understating the size of the cabin and that ...[Read More]

Had a great time

I rented Cabin #3 on Oct. 24, 2015. It was clean and very cozy. I spent the weekend with my sister so we had to use the pull out bed (sofa sleeper) for the night. I slept on the sofa sleeper. Initially, I was worried about the quality of the mattress, (since it’s primarily used as a couch) but I have to say, the mattress was fresh, clean, and firm. My Sister said the Queen bed mattress also ...[Read More]

4/5 for Christopher Creek

Took the family up from the valley (PHX) for the Labor Day weekend, and of course, all the properties were filled to capacity, so we fealt relieved to get a room at the Grey Hackle at such a busy time, on such short notice. It’s run by the Lewis family whom do an excellent job at the Christopher Creek Lodge up/down the road a ways. It was our first time staying at the GH, and we were all ple...[Read More]

Great set of cabins located off the creek and wonderful staff. Rooms are furnished with a kitchen, stove/oven, fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Fishing and hiking just outside. If you want to connect with your family and enjoy nature and life this is the place.

Perfect one or two day getaway, in the beautiful woods!

My wife and I love going to Christopher Creek for a one or two night getaway (and sometimes even for the day) and we’ve stayed just about everywhere around the vicinity. We have now stayed in the little cabins that Grey Hackle has to offer, twice now, and both times was an amazing experience! Tiny and cozy, but with ALL of the amenities you could hope for (mini fridge, stove, sink, full bath...[Read More]
